william hill money back 2nd in cashFor both flat and jump racing William Hill have a top new offer that gives you your stake back in real cash if your horse finished second, up to £10 (£1 minimum stake).

This applies to selected races but includes all of the major flat and jump meetings and all group / grade races over the course of the season.

The only stipulation is 4 or more horses must run and your selection must have odds of 3/1+ to qualify.

The stake refund applies to straight win bets only and the win part of each-way bets.  If you do back a horse each way and it finished second the cash return is calculated as the total stake minus the returns, up to £10 maximum.

For example, if you back at horse £5 each-way (1/4 odds for a place) at 3/1 and it finishes second you would receive £8.75 back form the place part of your bet, and as your horse was 2nd you will then receive a cash adjustment up to £10, i.e. £1.25.

If you backed a horse E/W and it was 2nd but the returns from the place part of the bet exceed £10 you would receive no additional cash.

In light of this in our opinion the offer is best used on win only bets as an each-way bet will always pay out if your horse finishes second anyway.

Other major things to be aware of is you can’t cash out the bet or it won’t qualify, you can’t use a free bet towards the offers and if there is a dead heat the promotion is also invalid.  Below is a copy of the major terms, and you can also view these by visiting the site below.

If you don’t already have a William Hill account you can also claim a welcome offer, which you can read more about in our main review.
