BetVictor Review

BetVictor are a very professional betting company with a focus on style, but certainly not over substance; basically the opposite to Paddy Power. This is a sophisticated bookmaker both in appearance and in the way the company is run.

Coined the ‘gentleman bookmaker’ and you can see why by just spending a minute on the site. It’s one of the smoothest, most unique, and user-friendly there is, and in an industry where so many sites look the same this really makes them stand out.

BetVictor has fantastic market range too, and every feature you would now come to expect from an online bookie is proudly on display, as well as a few little innovations of its own. Where they really shine is in their honest odds and offers, especially on football markets but this generally applies to everything.  There’s not much room for improvement here to be perfectly honest, but if you think of something, they welcome feedback from the homepage.

Customer Satisfaction

There is a reason why punters come back to BetVictor time and time again. There is a perfect synergy between ease of use, value for money, and customer care that is really hard to beat unless you are a very specific type of bettor.

Let’s look at each category in isolation:

Ease of Use

BetVictor Sports ListThe website is a beautiful thing to behold, it really is. It feels modern, unique, stylish – it’s a classy place to bet and no mistake.

Of course looks will only get you so far, so it’s fortunate that the site also handles perfectly and goes to great lengths to make your life easier.

For example, the menu can be searched and filtered while the main content on the screen remains the same. It’s brilliant.

There are so many options here too. Odds are available in fractions, decimals, American, Indo, and Chinese; the #PriceItUp bet builder gives you the freedom to plot your own course or you can #PriceRequest to get bespoke odds; the interface has a lot of components and filtering options so you can re-order the odds or bets on display.

If it sounds complicated it’s really not.

There are short cuts to pretty much everything and navigation to making a bet can be done in 3 or four clicks inside 30 seconds if you know where you are going.

There is also a search function though if you would rather go direct, where you can search for a sport, team, player, or competition.

Value for Money

A nice blend of good odds and strong offers makes BetVictor a place where you can get a lot more for your money than some other bookies can boast.

BetVictor Bet Boosts

Base level odds are often up there with the best, if not taking first place, especially for major events. The range between the margins from one sport to another is pretty tight as well most of the time, so sports like cricket and tennis will always be comparatively good value, for example, whereas ice hockey might require a bit more scrutiny as the odds can dip. Horse racing is another sport which tends to have a lot more room for odds to vary, but this is the same everywhere, and actually they climb higher at BetVictor than at many other sites and don’t dip too low – plus, best odds guaranteed is on offer.

Football is their real specialist subject though, with extremely low margins on some games. To be honest this could be BetVictor’s main selling point. If you bet regularly on football you would be a fool not to at least explore this bookies website.

If the odds weren’t enough to whet your palate then the promotions should do the trick. Daily bet boosts are always worth a quick look and they cover a range of sports not just the obvious stuff. There have also been various insurance deals in the past (stake returned if acca’s let down by one selection, or if a horse fails to start, etc.), as well as free bet offers that crop up regularly. Harry Redknapp is currently the face of the brand and a lot of casino offers are based around him too, so it’s not just sports bettors that can take advantage here.

Customer Care

BetVictor Customer Support

This is where bookmakers so often fall flat on their faces. They develop a great product, they offer value and choice, but they treat their customers badly when they need help. BetVictor are not one of these companies.

Their customer service line is available 24/7 and not just by email either. You can request a call back, send a message on Facebook or Twitter, or use the live chat (which is great once you find it) at any time of the day or night, and the FAQ is pretty useful as well. I have never had a bad experience when dealing with the BetVictor support team.

The terms are also favourable here, although not the very best. Still, a daily win cap of £500,000 is unlikely to cause any problems for most of us and there are no fees to deposit or withdraw – you can see the payment options available below:

Payment Type Min Deposit Min Withdrawal
Debit £5 £10
Bank Transfer £20 £25

So lots of options and low minimums make this an attractive service to any bettor, and it’s worth a look for high stakes punters too. As you would expect, BetVictor complies with all of the UKGC licensing requirements so you’re in safe hands here.

Betting Options

One thing that every betting site needs is plenty of interesting markets to bet on, not just in terms of the sports that are available, but also the leagues and competitions that are covered within those sports.

BetVictor is a football betting site more than anything else, and this much is clear from just the briefest look at the site. They cover the sport in the UK in great depth going all the way down to the lower leagues. Elsewhere they have good coverage of European leagues, plus the America’s, Asia, Australia, and even women’s U19’s internationals and things like that.

BetVictor Football

Outside of football horse racing is probably their next biggest focus, and it comes with a cracking bet finder tool. You can use it to find your perfect horse based on certain criteria set by you. It’s not just UK racing either, you can take a punt on races from Ireland, South Africa, France, and the USA. What’s more, a lot of these come with live streaming if you have placed a bet worth £1 or more.

BetVictor Horse Racing

Other sports with good market depth include:

  • Tennis
  • Greyhounds
  • Golf
  • American Sports
  • Darts
  • Snooker

There are around 30-35 sports categories on the list at any one time, and while they won’t all have the same market depth as a top sport like football, if there is a major fixture going on in the table tennis world for example it will always be available.

BetVictor isn’t a bookie that will drown punters in betting lines, but you certainly won’t feel short changed. Here are a few examples of pre-match market availability at the time of writing to give you a general idea:

  • Premier League – 150 markets
  • League One – 100+ markets
  • Shanghai Men’s Masters – 12 markets
  • NFL – 30+ markets
  • NBA – 15+ markets
  • Major League – 17+ Markets

Once the games get underway the in-play markets open up and more options become available. BetVictor covers an awful lot of in-play activity too, so there is always something to bet on live.

BetVictor History

BetVictor LogoBetVictor’s head honcho, Victor Chandler, is known as the “Gentleman Bookmaker” – or he was until he left the company in 2014 – and with virtues that include fairness, generosity, and great odds it is no surprise that the bookie has grown into one of the most trusted and popular in the land.

With roots that reach back to 1925 when Victor’s grandfather William opened the Walthamstow Greyhound Stadium, the company now known as BetVictor has been through plenty of changes in the betting industry but has always come up smelling of roses.

William Chandler passed the business on to his son Victor, who in turn passed it on to his son Victor, after renaming the company and calling it…Victor Chandler. That’s a lot of Victor’s! The Victor Chandler who ran the business until 2014 was only in his mid-20’s when he inherited the company in 1974 after his father died suddenly, and he has always been a forward thinking businessman. It was him that gave the company its current moniker.

Interestingly, they are one of the few old school bookies still going that took their operation online only and ceased trading on the high street. The company is also partly responsible for the mass exodus of gambling companies to offshore locations, as they were the first to do so when new tax laws were introduced in 1998, which is, incidentally, when BetVictor first launched online.

Renowned for their innovative approach to betting products as much as for their exceptionally good value betting odds, BetVictor are now based, regulated and licensed in Gibraltar.

Honourable Mentions

BetVictor CasinoAs well as everything above, it’s worth knowing that BetVictor have plenty of mobile betting options with apps available on all devices as well as an optimised mobile site. They’ve all been expertly developed and really are some of the best mobile betting products in the business – that’s no exaggeration. Money has clearly been spent here and spent well.

In-play betting is made a hassle free experience thanks to a slick and robust interface with plenty of options and personalisation toggles to play with. Two lists are available; in-play and upcoming, and keeping them apart in this way makes finding your market much easier than mixing them all together. Cash out is often available and it is easy to see when it is, and there are filtering options to narrow down your bet search as well as a good graphic interpretation of the game to keep you up to date.

Lastly, the casino. This is a standalone product but it takes a matter of seconds to jump to it from the sportsbook. It has its own offers which can be used alongside many of its 1000+ games. If you prefer traditional casino games to video slots then you are well catered for in either the casino or the live casino, which is powered by Evolution who dominate in this area with a little help from Progress Play to add variety, and there are some high quality virtual sports to keep you entertained between real life fixtures too.
