bet365 – Sub On Play On

bet365 have a new promotion for football bettors, called Sub On Play On.

It’s been designed to avoid that frustration when your player bets (or player props if you use American terminology) lose due to the player you bet on being subbed off.

Instead, the player that comes on to replace them takes up the mantle and the bet continues.

As an example, let’s pretend you bet on Bruno Fernandes to score but he limps off injured in the 60th minute. He is replaced by Kobbie Mainoo, who has a blinding 30 minutes and finds the back of the net just before the final whistle. At another bookmaker, your bet would have lost when Fernandes was subbed, but with the Sun On Play On offer, Mainoo effectively ‘becomes’ Fernandes for the purposes of your bet.

The really cool bit is there is no change in odds when this happens. Should the replacement player go on to win your bet for you, it will pay out at the same odds you took when placing it.

You need to look out for the Sub On Play On icon, but it is available on the following bet types as singles or part of multiples:

• First Goalscorer
• Last Goalscorer
• Anytime Goalscorer / To Score at Any Time
• Next Goalscorer
• To Score Two or More Goals / To Score 2 or More
• To Score Three or More Goals / To Score a Hat Trick
• Score with a Header
• Score from Outside the Box
• Player to be Booked
• Player to be Sent Off
• Player Assists
• To Score or Assist
• Player Shots on Target
• Player Shots
• Player Tackles
• Player Fouls Committed

As always, there are terms and conditions to be aware of, too:

• This offer applies to single and multiple bets on selected markets (listed above) where the Sub On Play On icon is visible.
• For single and multiple bets, if the player you have backed is substituted, your bet will carry over to their direct replacement and continue to run if the outcome of the bet is not already known.
• This offer only applies to qualifying Soccer matches in 90 minutes play. This includes any added injury or stoppage time but does not include extra time or a penalty shootout.
• If the outcome of your bet has already been determined before your selected player is substituted, then Sub On Play On will not apply and your bet will be settled in line with bet365’s Soccer Rules.
• This offer will not apply where a bet has been Cashed Out.
• The substitute that replaces your selected player is determined by the Press Association and will show on your bet slip.
•  If the bet would otherwise have lost, but becomes a winner under the terms of Sub On Play On, no Acca Boosts will be applied.
• Bets placed on friendly or exhibition matches do not count for this offer.

The only real downside here is that your player may be replaced by someone not as good, or even someone playing in a completely different position. If the manager decides to change formation part way through the game, for example, by taking off an attacking player for a defensive player.

Still, it keeps your bet alive so it’s still better than the alternative.
